WHAT TO BRING

Dogs - If you have a dog(s), bring them. We know the importance of your gundog, as all of our guides are dog handlers as well. We have excellent facilities to kennel your dogs and your pooch will feel at home.

Shotgun- For upland, a fast swinging 12 or 20 gauge. For waterfowl, a semi auto or pump 12 gauge

Upland Vest- As the action is fast and furious, you will go through a pile of shells. A vest that holds shells, and has a bird pouch is a must

Chaps- Saskatchewan draws and sloughs have nasty thornbushes and lots of burrs. A good pair of chaps or heavy denim jeans are a luxury in the field.

Camouflage - Camouflage is a must if you plan on waterfowling! Advantage Wetlands, Fall Flight, Shadow Grass are all good patterns. Money well spent would be on new camo.

White Coveralls - White coveralls are used for snow/speck hunting.

Snow/Canada/Speck Goose Calls - Big River calls are easy to blow. The snow goose call is essential, because the more calls in the spread the better. Learning how to effectively operate a goose call is time will spent. Audio tapes are available, and hunters should become proficient with a Canada, and Snow goose call. Be advised that the guide may be temporarily away from the action retrieving or spotting, therefore there may be times in which you are expected to do your own calling.

Face Masks - Face masks are the most important piece of equipment and well worth the cost. Bring both white, and camouflage facemasks.

Collapsible Soft Cooler(s) - If you plan on taking birds home, you must bring coolers.

Ammunition can be coordinated with the suppliers below, or we can order it for you. Expect to shoot a minimum of 1-2 boxes/day. For upland, 6-8 shots and we suggest BB's for geese and #2 shot for ducks. Note: ammunition is more expensive in Canada than the U.S. Please call with any questions. You come along way to shoot, we want to make sure you get the ammo you want!

Great Northern Rod & Reel - (306) 359-7378
TNT Gun Works - (306) 352-8505

Additional Recommendations (in addition to your regular bird hunting kit)

Coffee Thermos

Hip Waders

Shotgun plug - for semi automatics, in Saskatchewan, you are only allowed 3 rounds in the gun. 1 in the chamber, 2 in the mag.

A 2nd gun may not be a bad idea, but we have lots of backup shotguns

Rain Gear

Dog Kennel

Go to the sporting clays range and do some practice shooting prior to your trip. Many hunters have not shot their guns since last year's trip, and take a day or two to get back on track. We can pound all the clays you want when you get here. You didn't come this far to miss!
